The Cat & Candle Story
Cat & Candle isn’t just a name — it’s who I am and how I work. The Cat is me: curious, playful, always chasing the light, and sometimes a little silly (in the best way). The Candle is the light I use to craft images — whether it’s the sun, a spark of flash, or a mix of both. Together, they reflect the way I see photography: creative, warm, and full of life.

My Journey
I’ve always loved art in all its forms and have been endlessly curious about technology. When I needed to care for my family, photography became the perfect way to blend those passions. I started working with studios, learning not just the technical side of photography but also how to truly take care of clients. Over time, my skills grew, my confidence grew, and my excitement for creating beautiful images grew right alongside them.

My Style & Approach
Photography with me is equal parts fun, thoughtful, and a little wild (but always with reason). I want my clients to feel comfortable, confident, and free to be themselves. Sometimes that means silly prompts and laughter, sometimes it’s guiding you into a flattering pose, and other times it’s quietly catching a fleeting candid moment. At weddings and events, I’m tuned into the story of the day — the big milestones, the tiny details, and the in-between moments that show your personality. My goal is simple: when you look at your photos, you feel the joy you had in the moment all over again.

A Bit About Me
Outside of photography, I’m a proud cat lover (yes, my office is filled with cat figurines from comic conventions). I’m also a husband to my amazing wife Rebecca, and a dad to two nerdy, silly boys who keep life exciting. Our family loves board games and is slowly building a collection that might take over the house. I can’t resist sweet treats (you’ll usually spot me with a snack at weddings), and I love art in all forms — from cosplay and theater to landscapes and abstract photography. I’m also a bit of a nerd at heart, with a soft spot for superheroes, video games, and epic adventures.
